Even 10 years ago, I often photographed butterflies and other insects. I wanted to collect as much as possible to create a collection. Butterflies from my neighbourhood. I didn’t expect that I wouldn’t be able to do that now. The reason is this. I haven’t seen many species lately. There is no precipitation this spring and early summer. At the same time it is cool. I don’t think it’s good for insects or birds.
I haven’t seen a common linnet for some time. She was common here. Once I even photographed a wryneck. It was rare back then. I watched a beautiful common rosefinch by the river. She’s been gone for 3 years now. Redstarts, common chiffchaff and flycatchers are rare here. Will this change permanently? It would be very sad.
