50-60 years ago, the harvest was long. They often started as early as mid-July. Cut grain dried in the fields in sheaves arranged in dozens. The end of the harvest was sometimes around August 20-25. Much of the work was done by hand. The transported cereals were stored in barns. Sheaves of grain were threshed often even in winter. There were many farms in the village. The harvest season was a time of hard work for all the inhabitants, men, women and even children.
