Although we have the second half of May, it is quite chilly at night, and the temperature near the ground is below 0 degrees. Yesterday, after sunset, we went for a short trip to the nearby forest. First, we heard an unfamiliar voice calling, and then we saw a fox in the distance, which seemed to make that sound. I’ve never heard a voice like that before. We watched it for over 0.5 hours. I took some photos. It was late and little light. Then he went to the other side of the hill, and there I saw a male roe deer in high crops. We returned to the previous place again, and the calling continued. I think it’s mating season now and it’s the call of the male or female. Of course it was a red fox (Vulpes vulpes).
