We waited for winter almost until the end of the year. December was the warmest in many, many years. The last 2 days of December brought cooling, but today we have real frost. It was -18ºC at night. Winter is not complete because there is no snow. All ponds, lakes and even rivers were covered with ice. The wind blows from the east, so the frost will stay for a long time. Wintering birds concentrate at feeders. Well, the days are sunny and the short days seem longer.
