Winter has arrived for good. It adds snow every day. The temperature is moderate, slightly below zero. A short trip to the forest. I meet 3 roe deer in a corn field. I take photos and move on. Then there are only slightly snow-covered trees and it’s quite slippery. The walk is pleasant along forest paths. It smells like a pine forest.

 The next day I see a blackbird. I photograph him looking for something to eat under a bush. Life is difficult in such conditions. Chickadees, sparrows, nuthatches and even a treecreeper use the feeders. I took a photo of the treecreeper, but it wasn’t very good. It moves very quickly. I guess that’s it. Below are the photos.

  Our trips to the forest and the surrounding fields and river are always similar. We see familiar landscapes. We observe birds and animals. Conditions are not often right to take a photo. However, it is pleasant to observe with binoculars. When there is no interesting light, landscape photos are rather bland. The sun at a certain time or an interesting fog makes a well-known sight very attractive. Sometimes it happens by accident. Waiting for the right conditions may not be feasible. Deer are a common motif or target in my landscape photography. I am including the latter below.

I have always been fascinated by the beauty of deer and capturing them in photographs. Over the years, I have had the privilege of observing and documenting the lives of these majestic creatures. Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) are a common sight in my area, and they never cease to amaze me with their graceful movements and gentle demeanor. As the sun sets and the moon takes its place in the sky, I ventured out to photograph them once again. Despite the challenges of shooting in low light and from a distance, I was determined to capture their essence.      While staying at Lake Mikaszewo, in the evening I noticed a beaver swimming from one reed bed to another. He probably stayed there all night. The sounds of its feeding could be heard. Early the next morning the beaver returns with a long branch of reeds. Why does it carry reeds? There are plenty of them out there and they are all the same. It’s hard to understand.

    There were seagulls, grebes and many mallard ducks swimming on the lake. A family of mute swans swam by. The weather is wonderful. Warm, windless and quiet. From time to time, tourists passed by on kayaks from Czarna Hańcza towards Płaska. Good conditions, because it is not as hot as in August. And you can catch some fish for breakfast. September turned out to be very warm. We went to Lake Mikaszewo. It was a 2-day rest. While fishing with a rod, a mink appeared. Then she disappeared somewhere. The next day she was there again. This time she didn’t leave us. She was interested in the fish she caught. She wasn’t afraid of us at all. She even acted aggressively. Then even a second one appeared. We photographed her for quite a long time. This animal is very agile. He has nice fur and sharp teeth. I’ve seen her in previous years as well. But she wasn’t that brave.

This year turned out to be another year with a negligible amount of precipitation in spring and summer. We have a drought. It hadn’t rained for a long time. The temperatures are high. For vacationers, it’s great conditions. Not for nature anymore. The grass dries up. Birds and animals are also feeling the effects of drought. Harvest complete. The fields are empty. Only the corn is green and also suffers from a lack of water. The landscape looks sadder and sadder. We watch deer and other animals in the early hours. Rather, we see them from afar. Binoculars help with observation. I’m trying to take long distance photos.
