It’s been a long time since the last post about beetles. Accidentally, I noticed a beetle in the plot. It turned out that it was not in my modest collection. I looked for his ID on the Internet. I think this is the correct name – Nicrophorus vespilloides. Photo taken with a phone. I almost always have it with me. Sufficient quality.

     I haven’t been able to take a picture of a new moth for a long time. This  scopula ternata is difficult to identify. Its English name Smoky wave. It has no distinctive color or pattern. Many are quite similar. It’s possible that my identification is wrong. I use the website “Moths and Butterflies of Europe and North Africa“. I also post photos of butterflies that I met in the meadow. They are quite common. They are already in my collection.

     Return to Mikaszewo. This year we are second time. It’s tourist season now. Opportunity for swimming, sunbathing, fishing. The previous stay was still in April. There was emptiness. It’s gray and cold by the lake. Currently we managed to swim in the lake and catch some fish for dinner. And of course, take some photos.

      It so happened that so far I have not met a cricket in my area. I wasn’t really looking for him. I have rarely heard his song. Now during the day there are sounds of various machines and devices. The sounds of nature are hard to hear. It’s only possible before sunset. Here yesterday at the pond he ran into my clothes. I managed to catch him. He runs very fast. At home on the balcony I took some photos. Here is a field cricket.

         A beautiful specimen of the musk beetle. This time it ran down the rain gutter to the bucket. I fished it out, took a photo and saved it. I have come across this beetle before. Very nice color and shape. It is difficult to photograph because of the quick urge to run away.
