It’s been a long time since the last post about beetles. Accidentally, I noticed a beetle in the plot. It turned out that it was not in my modest collection. I looked for his ID on the Internet. I think this is the correct name – Nicrophorus vespilloides. Photo taken with a phone. I almost always have it with me. Sufficient quality.

      It so happened that so far I have not met a cricket in my area. I wasn’t really looking for him. I have rarely heard his song. Now during the day there are sounds of various machines and devices. The sounds of nature are hard to hear. It’s only possible before sunset. Here yesterday at the pond he ran into my clothes. I managed to catch him. He runs very fast. At home on the balcony I took some photos. Here is a field cricket.

       May is the month of greenery and flowers. It is said to be the most beautiful month of the year. Unfortunately, last year it was very cool and dry. This year it was also cool but also very rainy. Such weather is not favorable for many birds that start their breeding. Butterflies and other insects are hardly visible. Only snails are doing great. Let us hope that the following months of summer will be favorable for people and nature. Perhaps there will be fruits and vegetables. The harvest will be a little late. The weather will be sunny and we will forget about the past May chills.

Summer 2018 is extremely hot. We had a very long period of drought. Hence we have very poor yields of cereals and vegetables. But they gave birth to fruits and berries. We are beginning of August, and the harvest is coming to an end. Temperatures are often above 30 degrees and nights are also very warm. It is difficult to go outside during the day. I think, however, after 10 August the weather will be more conducive to our well-being. There is no desire to photograph nature, unless just before sunset.

   It seems to be a common butterfly. I saw a lot of photos of this butterfly on the internet. I never saw him in my near and distant area. Here, yesterday, almost before sunset at the edge of the forest, I met him. It was just Black-veined white (Aporia crataegi). He sat calmly prepared for the night. I think the picture was fine. I’m very happy about it. I only met one more butterfly on a dry blade of grass. We have quite a serious period of drought and the number of butterflies encountered is very limited.

   This new beetle was brought by my wife. He got entangled in the apartment. I tried to photograph. When it comes to identification, I have a problem. I am not a specialist and searching websites on the internet did not bring 100% results. According to me, this beetle comes from the Carabidae family. Is this Carabus coriaceus, I’m not convinced. Maybe someone will send me the correct name?
