Even though it’s the middle of winter, the weather is rather autumnal. On Saturday, January 17th we went on a short trip to the Augustów Primeval Forest. We got to the lake Sajno. There we saw a pair of swans. Then came the ducks. It turned out that they were mergansers. I’ve never seen them so far. I’ve only been able to photograph them from a distance. They were skittish. We watched them through binoculars while they were still diving like grebes. The weather was very cloudy and the light was dim. We stopped in the forest admiring pines, spruces, junipers and lots of heather.
